The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy, and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal is seeking a Research Technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project EPHOR, in one of the work packages aiming to investigate the effects of shift work on health by looking at short-term exposures. Effects of short-term exposures, in relation to the working life exposome, biological pathways, early markers of disease, and key body functions will be assessed using external and internal exposome data. The candidate will give support to the field work of the EPHOR project, and support for sample and data management.
The EPHOR project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 874703.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONSDegree in Biomedical SciencesFluency in spoken and written SpanishFluency in spoken and written EnglishExperience in fieldwork of epidemiological studiesExperience in sample managementKEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage the scheduling of data collection for participants in the study, manage the allocation of sensors and the prompt collection of these sensors after their use, manage biological sample transport and storage, and maintain close communication between the field centers and researchers at ISGlobal.

- Oversee survey completion
- Distribute, describe, and model appropriate sensor use
- Pick up sensor devices

SELECTION PROCESSThe selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation to assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed, any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
