While all Animation studios look to hire people who are creative and hard-working, Skydance Animation is specifically looking for pioneers who seek to push the limits of what the world's most collaborative art form can achieve, and to give those pioneers the space and the resources to build a new studio that's doing something different.As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for:Managing the Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, and your departments' crew.Collaborating with the Assoc. Production Manager and Production Manager in maintaining the master schedule for production.Partnering with supervisors in the set-up and running of departments.Working with the CG Sup to coordinate the technical challenges involved with the deadlines of departments.Working with Production Management to meet overall production scheduling and budget requirements, ensuring updates are made as changes occur.Understanding how changes may affect the budget, scheduling, and overtime, and communicating the impact of changes to the Production Manager.Looking ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones, and inventory expectations are met.Strategizing with Department Head, production management, and possibly other Production Supervisors to resolve any productivity and/or inventory issues.Creating and maintaining reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity.Collaborating with Dept. Head to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists.Performing walk-arounds to check in with the crew.Attending Director approvals and helping to drive this meeting.Checking in with department head and production team regularly to discuss challenges, acknowledge successes, and address morale issues.Managing inventory flow in/out of departments.Setting expectations at meetings and Director Approvals, identifying which notes should be addressed later.Regularly assessing departmental progress and strategizing to maintain productivity.Working with the Coordinators and PAs to prioritize their daily workloads and conducting regular weekly meetings with them.Mentoring and developing Production Coordinators and PAs.Managing crew schedules and approving vacations.Providing guidance and support to the department heads in conjunction with the Production Manager and Head of Production.Leading the team by providing support, guidance, and instruction to contribute to their artistic and professional growth, ensuring all assets follow quality standards and artistic direction while meeting deadlines.Keeping up on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit the production and the company.Requirements:6+ years in VFX or animation industries.3+ years in feature production departments OR extensive experience on 2 shows.Experience working cross-site with remote crews on 2+ films is preferred.Software requirements: ShotGun, Microsoft Excel and Word, Outlook/Gmail, and knowledge of production tracking databases.Excellent working knowledge of film production pipeline and methodologies.Advanced English level; Spanish oral and written is desirable.Skydance is a diversified media company founded by David Ellison in 2010 to create high-quality, event-level entertainment for global audiences.
