For our office in Merelbeke, we are looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Financial Accountant | Santander Consumer Leasing.
Your role and the team For our newly established Santander Consumer Lease branch and JV activities in Merelbeke, we are looking for someone who wants to become part of our team and support the organization in our growth ambitions.
We seek a self-starter who is accurate, driven, and independent.
You will manage the local unit Financial Accounting within the set frameworks to ensure that Santander's primary and secondary processes are supported timely, correctly, and efficiently.
The team can best be described as an enthusiastic group with a lot of diversity.

You will report directly to the Manager Financial Accounting.
The Finance Control team consists of ten colleagues and one Manager Financial Accounting.
Who are you?
You make an active contribution within financial accounting.
You will manage the entire Lease process, which includes: Correctly, completely, and timely providing and managing financial data, including general ledger, debtors, creditors, subsystem connections, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Providing internal and external financially related reports (such as CIT, VAT) and other financially related statistical reports in a timely manner.
Monthly management reporting for both the local management and the headquarters in Madrid.
Drawing up monthly and annual reports, including the annual accounts according to Belgian GAAP.
Supporting the forecasting and budgeting process.
Providing balance sheet and profit and loss data for the head office under IFRS.
Correct application of financial regulations and laws.
Supporting internal and external audits and contributing to the preparation and execution of audit findings.
Contributing to formulating the data requirements and making available the information required for the settlement of projects/activities.
Contributing to the improvement and creation of processes.
You will be part of the financial team which takes care of both consumer finance and operational lease business.
You have Minimum 5 years of experience in financial departments.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the operational lease business.
Relevant Belgium tax and legal knowledge, including VAT, CIT, and regulatory requirements.
Advanced knowledge of Belgium GAAP, IFRS (plus), VAT, and CIT (plus).
Knowledge of financial services.
Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI (plus).
Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
