Santander Insurance is looking for a Global Analyst of New Businesses, who will help in the transformation of Santander into the fastest growing insurance business across the countries where it operates. It will report directly to the Global New Businesses Manager within the Growth team of Santander Insurance and will be based in our headquarters in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid.
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE AND THE OPPORTUNITY Insurance is a core component of the Santander business. It generates a profit contribution of c.1,500M€, with more than 20M active policies. It is a core component of customer loyalty being insurance customers' life at the bank longer than that of customers without insurance. It also helps our mission as a Group by providing the financial protection that our customers need to prosper.
Over the past years the business grew at double digit every year (except for 2020 due to COVID) and progressed significantly in terms of completing the product offer and transforming sales processes into digital journeys. Nevertheless, there is a lot of upsides to be captured still by realizing the full potential of the customer base throughout the 11 countries of where Santander Group has an insurance operation and by doing so the business could double within five years.
We are in a process of reorganizing all the insurance operations of Santander Group under an insurance holding, and in parallel we are doubling our ambition and rethinking our strategy and approach. As such, we are looking for a Global Analyst of New Businesses, who will report to the Global New Businesses Manager within the Growth team of Santander Insurance, so that together they can transform the mindset around growth and implement the required capabilities to double the business within five years.
YOUR MISSION: As Global Analyst of New Businesses, your mission will be to transform Santander into the fastest growing insurance business across the countries where it operates and to capture the full potential of its customer base by:
Supporting in the generation of significant shareholder value through new spin-offs that also generate a positive effect for either the growth and/or the persistence of the insurance business.Identifying market opportunities for growth, developing their equity story, and following up their implementation.Creating and maintaining a portfolio of opportunities in different maturity stages to unlock the value of Santander's insurance business.Supporting New Businesses success working closely with your manager by anticipating potential avenues of growth and risk.Boosting a culture based on data, the analysis of data and measurable results of our actions at all levels of the organization.Reporting the impact and results of the team's efforts to the Executive Committee.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE The position will require proven and relevant experience with demonstrated track record of:
Identifying market opportunities and assessing business and operational models' feasibility.Developing business cases sustained by data analysis.Working in a large multinational corporation with matrix structures leading change through positive influence across different units and/or countries.Positively influencing peers.Managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced growth and creative environment.Executing, implementing, and realizing impact above concept and theory, making things happen whether big or small in ways that are more practical & swifter than perfect.The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional experience, of which at least 1 year within the abovementioned responsibilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAITS The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Very analytical, methodical and detail driven. Ability to read and identify small nuances in data and insurance market trends.Data analysis and visualization skills with an ability to simplify data and findings for effective executive communication.Great interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities. People person.High proficiency in English and Spanish. Portuguese is highly desirable.University Degree. MBA or postgraduate studies will be highly valued.
