The candidate should have solid experience in various libraries like PETSc and FTensor, which can readily be used as a scalable unstructured finite element problem generator.
Previous experience in working with open-source FE solvers, computer model verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification will be largely welcome.
The Researcher will collaborate with a small team of researchers dedicated to the same project and will report periodically to the respective PI of UPF and 3D Shaper Medical SL, to ensure (i) that the timelines of the project and deliverables are met, and (ii) that the project results can be properly disseminated through scientific and medical congresses and journals.
Hence, communication and teamwork will be chiefly important.
While day-to-day working language will be English, Spanish language fosters social interactions and (the learning thereof) is highly recommended.
Minimum Requirements:Hold a BSc and a MSc in either Applied Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, Civil Engineering, or any related field.Have a PhD title, with a doctoral thesis focused on the development of open source finite element codes and application of continuum mechanics.Have at least two years of demonstrable experience in the development, implementation, and use of finite element open-source software and codes like MoFEM, FeBIO.Be able to demonstrate a proficient level of English, both written and spoken.
