The role of an Azure Cloud Platform Engineer (5+ years' experience) is an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development position within the Cloud Engineering team of our Cloud Transformation Organisation.
This cross-functional team is responsible for developing and managing the cloud strategy, governance, and best practices that the entire organization can leverage to transform the business using the cloud.
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will join a team of highly skilled Platform Engineers responsible for the end-to-end ownership and automated delivery of public cloud services through IaC.
This includes the development, building, and running of the Azure Cloud Platform.
Your responsibilities will include bringing Azure expertise to enabling and maximizing the organization's ability to exploit cloud technology for business benefits through IaC, while ensuring customer satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, operational integrity, and adherence to relevant industry best practices.

Your Role As a Cloud Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: Be responsible for code that designs, provisions, configures, automates, monitors, and supports the Azure Cloud Platform.
Enhance the Cloud Platform to accelerate cloud adoption by developing platform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support global business applications and operations.
This includes modernising and migrating enterprise datacenters in the following areas: Compute Storage Networking Databases and Data Assist in the development of processes and practices to support migration of workloads to public cloud.
Through automation, enforce continuous compliance to industry operation and security standards.
Develop code to support the safe orchestration and release of infrastructure, applications, and workloads to Cloud environments.
Follow best practice around code management, such as source control, pull requests, artefacts, and deployment packages.
Work to agile principles of Epics, Stories, Sprints to deliver code at the right time as guided by the Product Owner/Manager.
Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as DevOps, Security, and Application Development, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud solutions.
Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment of applications and infrastructure.
Continuously update your knowledge of new Azure services and features and assess their potential impact or benefit to the organization's cloud strategy.
Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
Your Skills and Experience As a Cloud Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 5+ years' experience in Azure cloud engineering.
