This role involves identifying global sources for castings, weldments, and electrical components, as well as establishing common sources and pricing for global products.
The Global Sourcing Manager balances risk management and pricing to optimize cost savings and drive innovation in procurement processes.Responsibilities include:Developing strategic sourcing processes including spend analysis, supply market analysis, negotiations, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationship management.Implementing and maintaining standard processes that support a robust governance framework for procurement activities.Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and forecasts, and developing cost reduction strategies.Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends.Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, developing standard terms and agreements, negotiating contracts, and establishing long-term relationships that drive value and innovation.Driving cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier collaboration, and process improvements.Analyzing market trends, benchmarking, and financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.Leading efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address supplier performance, quality, and continuous improvement.Proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational factors.Managing and improving total cost for direct materials.Developing contingency plans to ensure a reliable supply chain.Leading a high-performing global procurement team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.Providing coaching and mentorship to team members, promoting professional development.Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in procurement.Evaluating and implementing technology solutions to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.Ensuring procurement practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.Establishing KPIs for the procurement function.
