What do we expect from you?  As a Middle Distillates Trader, you'll be at the forefront of dynamic trading and portfolio management within Diesel/Gasoil and Jet markets. Your primary mission is to grow profitability while navigating established risk parameters. You'll take charge of identifying fresh market opportunities, utilizing market insights for strategic business expansion, and taking well-informed trading decisions that align with our organizational goals.
Role Responsibilities:
Engage in active trading and portfolio management within Middle Distillates markets, focusing on maintaining profitability while adhering to established risk parameters. Develop and implement trading strategies and manage pricing exposures based on market intelligence. Engage in trading financial derivatives for hedging purposes and to optimize asset optionality, as well as for proprietary trading. Identify and act upon new market opportunities and business expansion, leveraging market insights and relationships to cultivate new ventures. Utilize in-depth knowledge of market risks and exposure to make well-informed trading decisions in line with organizational goals. Adjust and optimize trading strategies in response to market fluctuations, operational challenges, and supply disruptions. Share market intelligence and tactical approaches, contributing to the collective knowledge and strategic direction of the trading team. Maintain and develop relationships with key customers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all trading activities adhere to internal and external regulations and standards while working closely with other desk members, operations, mid- and back-office and legal department colleagues, to ensure smooth operation and alignment. What are we looking for? We welcome candidates with varying experience levels, with a minimum requirement of a few years experience in commercial negotiations for storage, pipeline, transportation, and commodity contracts and a proven track record of successful trading results.
Key attributes include comfort with financial derivatives, experience in trading regional arbitrage with diverse derivative instruments and freight, and an understanding of refining economics. We value individuals who can comprehend and articulate complex business problems, creating effective trading solutions. Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills, such as Spanish, are advantageous. Most importantly, we seek candidates willing and able to work under significant pressure, demonstrating high resilience and availability.

Thrives in a team-based environment and actively contributes to shared objectives. Enhances team strategies through effective integration and cooperation. Relationship Builder with Business Development Focus: Proficient in building and nurturing relationships, both inside and outside the organization. Exhibits a sharp focus on business development to drive organizational growth. Comprehensive understanding of middle distillates markets, enabling informed decision-making and effective identification of arbitrage opportunities. Effective Planner and Organizer: Demonstrates effectiveness in planning and organizing tasks. Works towards achieving ambitious targets and timelines. Commercially Savvy with Deal Lifecycle Management: Commercially astute, understanding the intricacies of deal management. Takes a comprehensive approach to managing the full lifecycle of deals for margin optimization.
