The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong applied engineering skills and an aptitude for leading small engineering teams and projects. In this role, you will support the propulsion and vehicle teams as the focal point for leading mechanical design projects (Airframe, Propulsion, Landing gear, flight controls) through the entire design life cycle.TasksLead design projects for aerospace components and systems from the conceptual phase through manufacturing to integration and testingGenerate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration and testingDeliver technical documentation including any engineering calculations, analysis and assumptions required to substantiate your design decisions and solutionsPrepare and participate in design reviewsManage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing any technical questions and resolving any issues which may arise during the manufacturing processSelect standard parts, fasteners, equipment and consumables following best practices and industry standardsContribute to the DMU and configuration managementRequirementsBsc., MSc. in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Technician qualifications with substantial experience would also be considered.+8 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industryStrong knowledge of the manufacturing and assembly processes: machining, sheet metal forming, composites and additive manufacturingExcellent CAD and PLM knowledge: Part design, DWGs, DMU managementGood engineering material properties knowledgeStrong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills: dimensioning calculations, load path definitions, basic stress calculations, energy and powerSeal and fastener design knowledgeAuxiliary component selection – general electro/mechanical componentsISO GD&T knowledge requiredFluent in English as working language.
