General Summary:
The Marketing Specialist Iberia participates in the day-to-day execution of the marketing strategy by deploying marketing tactics, measuring their success, and ensuring effective delivery to customers in support of Vertex business in Spain. This role participates in the development and delivery of the annual brand plan for the Hematology area to achieve business objectives. Additionally, the position will work in partnership with International Analytics and Commercial Ops team (GIACO) to support the design and implementation of an omnichannel marketing strategy for Iberia including marketing initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates the review and approval processes for new and existing marketing materials: including coordination of all teams (regulatory, medical, marketing, legal, marketing agency and others)
Develops/updates existing marketing materials for customers that are aligned with marketing strategy and business objectives (including but not limited to branded websites, interactive visual aids, sales brochures)
Supports customer engagement and promotional activity by ensuring marketing pieces have been uploaded to the CRM platform, administrating speaker programs, and coordinating conference activities (including promotional booth and conference materials)
Supports business operations in deployment of digital marketing tactics (such as webinar, IVA, Email web) and provides day to day operational support. Understands business requirements, manages requests, prioritization, and issues
Manages digital marketing platform(s): timelines and deliveries, in partnership with country and international marketing teams, IT team, external agencies (digital production or country agencies), and other stakeholders to ensure correct deployment of relevant initiatives / tactics
Contributes to overall omnichannel strategy and develop customer "personas" journeys
Supports implementation and operations of digital platforms
Partners with analytics team to analyze digital and print material usage metrics for performance reporting and assessing needs for future updates across brand
Manages agency partners to ensure budget alignment and timely deliverables
Partners with other colleagues to work with ad agencies to develop tactics in support of annual brand planning
Engages in the development of key marketing insights in partnership with GIACO team
Tracks marketing activities including budget
Oversees contracting processes and raises purchase orders when needed
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to understand the target market at a high level
Ability to understand key elements of brand strategy and incumbent's role in executing that strategy
Ability to understand insights and the implications, and apply those insights to tactics/business problems/opportunities
Results-oriented, and communication and collaboration skills to explain complex information to others in straightforward situations
Proven ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects
Proven ability to work with outside business partners and vendors
Previous experience in defining an omnichannel strategy
An understanding of the legal and regulatory environment. Proven experience in working in the approval of promotional materials in the pharmaceutical industry in Spain will be requested and a plus for the Portuguese market.
Good expertise in MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Demonstrated experience in Digital project planning and management
Fluency in English. Portuguese would be beneficial.
Basic experience in the specialty pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries
Experience in a marketing agency environment would be beneficial
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Masters degree in marketing, business, scientific area, or related field
Requires experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
