What the role entailsSome of the key responsibilities of our Manual QA Engineer will be:
Team Member Role that requires general supervisionReviews software requirements and specificationsConducts system analysis and creates documentation when necessaryPrepares and reviews test casesExecutes Manual tests and analyzes results to ensure highest qualityReports, records (using a specific quality management system like Jira), and monitors defectsHelps troubleshoot issues and retest bugsProvides daily reporting and communication of work doneCollaborates with other team members or members on other sites when neededKeeps up-to-date on the latest advances in the test communityPrepares and reviews test plansCoaches and mentors other testers on a daily basisManually play the game, testing all levels and aspects of it, which are not limited to gameplay, graphics, content, sound, animation, etc.Update test cases, to uncover more bugs and/or to align and comply with supported jurisdictional requirementsFocus on the playability of a game and suggest improvementsChecks that the game is compatible with supported software and hardware such as Embedded testingWrite Game specific test casesCollate and manage internal or external feedbackAssist Product Team and Scrum Masters in collating and managing internal or external feedbackAdvocates best QA practicesFor you, this is more than a Manual QA Engineer role in game development.
