Scope of Work / Duties of Consultant: Work as a member of the Linux support team:
• Production support.
• Troubleshoot complex problems; engage in incident and problem management; including engagement in governance processes as needed e.g. CAB (Change Advisory Board) participation.
• Full engagement in the maintenance lifecycle of applicable equipment/processes in the respective domain/area.
• Monitor and escalate as needed for any anomalies of the system in their respective domain.
• Project support as a technical member.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure CAB changes impacting disaster recovery are properly applied to the disaster recovery procedures when applicable.
• Participate in the execution of the recovery procedures and to providing support after the recovery.
• Collaborate with other teams as needed.
• Technical documentation and review with knowledge of industry best practices.
• Stay abreast with the latest technology.
Required Technical Skills: The resource MUST have the following skills and experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field or equivalent certifications.
• Solid background in the RedHat administration and tools such as Satellite.
• Hands on experience in Ansible.
• Hands on experience on UNIX/Linux internals and commonly used UNIX/Linux Open-source applications (Apache, Tomcat, Open SSH, etc.).
• Hands on experience on system monitoring tools like SAR and Datadog.
• Good knowledge of scripting languages (Korn, Perl, Python.).
Required Soft Skills: • Customer facing experience and oral communication skills.
• Ability to write documentation & reports.
• Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills.
• Willingness to learn on the job.
Desirable certifications: • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
• Linux/RedHat certifications.
• Knowledge/certification in cloud computing technology (Azure).
• Familiarity with business continuity framework.
