Due to significant demand for their services, and forecasted growth, we are looking to hire a Salesforce Development lead for the Internal Tech Stack development.
Brief Summary of role: As this client expands, the role of Salesforce Development Lead has emerged as a critical function to manage and elevate this remote Salesforce development team.
This position will oversee and mentor a team of remote developers (India), coordinating workload distribution, capacity management, and career development to maximize team performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
This individual will report directly to the Director of Business Applications and play a vital role in working with company partners to manage contractor resources effectively, including discussions on rates and timesheets.
The Salesforce Technical Lead is adept at translating business needs into Salesforce solutions, proactively guiding stakeholders on what is possible within the platform, and ensuring that high-quality, innovative solutions are implemented.
With extensive experience in troubleshooting complex issues within highly customized Salesforce environments, this person will serve as both a technical expert and a mentor, setting development standards, managing expectations, and contributing as an individual contributor on solution design and implementation.
What you'll be doing as Salesforce Development Lead : Team Leadership and Development: Oversee and manage the performance, workload, and professional development of the remote Salesforce development team.
Ensure capacity is managed effectively, providing guidance and support for career growth.
Resource Management: Coordinate with company partners to manage contractor resources, reviewing hourly rates, timesheets, and related administrative tasks.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate directly with the Director of Business Applications and other business leaders to understand their needs and deliver tailored Salesforce solutions.
Guide stakeholders in understanding the possibilities and limitations of the platform.
Technical Solution Design and Delivery: Spend approximately 70-80% of time on individual contributor tasks, such as solution design, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices for Salesforce configurations and automation.
Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting: Address complex technical challenges within our Salesforce environment, including resolving Apex and Flow exceptions.
Conduct root-cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
Development Standards and Best Practices: Establish and enforce development standards, guidelines, and repeatable processes that elevate team quality and promote consistency across projects.
Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain metrics to track team productivity, output quality, and project timelines.
Regularly report team performance and project status to the Director of Business Applications.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Drive continuous improvement efforts, introducing new ideas and innovative solutions that align with business objectives and promote a high standard of work.
We are looking for someone with: Experience: 7+ years in Salesforce development or technical roles, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management capacity overseeing technical resources.
Proven track record of managing developer teams within Salesforce, focusing on workload, capacity, and career development.
Strong technical background with experience in handling complex Salesforce orgs, including customisations, Apex triggers, classes, Flows, and managed packages.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Salesforce declarative tools (e.g., Flows, Lightning App Builder, Validation Rules) and custom development with Apex.
Deep knowledge of Salesforce best practices, data modelling, security, and integration patterns.
Advanced troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex issues in customized environments.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, fostering trust and collaboration with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and functions.
Proven capability to translate technical solutions into business value, inspiring confidence in stakeholders.
Leadership and Innovation: Strong mentorship skills to elevate the quality of work within the team by implementing and upholding design guidelines, standards, and consistent practices.
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and process improvement.
Certifications: Salesforce Platform App Builder and Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II preferred.
Relevant DevOps or CI/CD certifications are a plus.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience required.
