If you just said "yes," keep reading.Job DescriptionWhat you'll do hereOver a period of 4-5 months from August to December, you will work closely with our senior editors, as well as with staff reporters and freelancers, supervising approximately five. You'll be responsible for daily interactions with reporters in your time zone, helping them to develop story ideas and prioritize coverage. You'll edit several articles daily and take the lead on editing newsletters that capture the highlights of those articles and events. You'll help reporters develop story ideas around their beats and the global development calendar, meet daily deadlines, and work with a dedicated team of reporters and editors tackling the big issues in global development, ranging from U.K. and EU foreign aid to climate change and development finance issues.Qualifications- You live in Europe or the Eastern US and can work GMT/CET hours.- 5-7 years of work experience as a journalist/editor.- Strong editing skills; preferably experience managing reporters.- Excellent English writing skills, with the ability to write engaging, compelling, conversational copy.- Digital media comes naturally to you.- You're looking for a temporary assignment.- An undergraduate degree.- Understanding and interest in development and/or humanitarian issues.Besides the basics, here's what we'd love to see:- You haven't just heard of the World Bank and Gates Foundation; you know what they do and how they work.- Experience working with a high-quality media brand.- Experience working across both news and features.Additional InformationWhat We Offer YouBeing part of the Devex team is a partnership.
