Position: Laboratory Technician, for histological processing / Técnico de anatomía patológica (AP)
Department: Functional Validation & Preclinical Research (FVPR) - Drug Delivery & Targeting (DDT)
VHIR offers a vacancy for covering a work leave of a laboratory technician with experience in tissue processing (fixation, inclusion), sectioning, and staining. The FVPR is devoted to performing customized assays in the area of preclinical development (in vitro and in vivo efficacy, toxicology, and pharmacokinetic assays) of novel diagnostic or therapeutic compounds based on nanotechnology. FVPR is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis, and therefore, the incorporated technician will also be linked to this platform.
Her/his work will be oriented to support the In vivo and In vitro Sections of FVPR in an ISO9001:2015 certified environment.
Job Description Education and Qualifications: Required:
- Technical degree and/or Superior Technician of Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis.
Experience and Knowledge: Required:
- Previous experience in routine histological processing, from tissue fixation to inclusion, sectioning, and staining.
- Lab management skills (analytical, organizational, and time management).
- Good computer skills, especially in MS Office.
Desired:
- Experience in Quality Management Systems, specifically with ISO9001 standards.
- Good level of English (E2 level B2 or equivalent).
- Basic knowledge and experience in tissue culturing.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the preclinical histology section of FVPR by:
- Collecting, fixing, and processing biological samples.
- Sectioning of paraffin-embedded blocks.
- Performing regular staining and immunohistochemistry procedures on obtained sections.
- Data registry and preliminary reporting.
- Basic processing of cell cultures and mouse tissue samples.
- Administrative and laboratory management tasks.
