Lab Technical Assistant (2024PILIFRUA247)Specialist research support technician with the "Hearing Technologies and Audiology" Group of the Institute of Neurosciences, part of the "Audiology and Hearing Technology" Group. The group expands the Hearing Prosthesis Group of the Hannover Medical School, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science through the Neuro-Hear project of the ATRAE program, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing Waldo Nogueira.
A memorandum between the UAB and the "Hearing4all" Cluster of Excellence guarantees collaboration with the Hannover Medical School and the University of Oldenburg. The Neuro-Hear project aims to explore the interaction mechanisms within the electrically and acoustically stimulated auditory system. The project will be supported by a research team, including a postdoctoral fellow, two doctoral students, and a technical assistant.
Functions Maintain laboratories at the UAB and associated hospitals.Invite subjects to participate in research studies.Perform audiological measurements (tone and verbal audiometry, otoacoustic emissions, trunk and cortical responses with EEG).Conduct data analysis.This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to research with important implications for the health and well-being of people.
Job Position Requirements (Skills/Languages/Required Experience) Required: Background in engineering, physics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, audiology, or hearing technology/Speech therapy/Psychology and Pedagogy with a Master in Audiology; interest in signal processing, neuroscience, and electrophysiology; motivation for teamwork; statistical and programming skills; English fluency.
Preferable: Knowledge in audio signal processing, hearing research, auditory perception, research experience in developmental science, prior experience with EEG.
Benefits 33,247.79 € added to the Plus Campus corresponding amount and other salary supplements that may apply (Gross annual).
