Description
As an Everest Underwriting Assistant, you will support the Underwriting department while working as a member of the Operations Underwriting Support team to deliver accurate risk, record keeping, and reporting.
We are hiring multiple Underwriting Assistants to join the Everest Operations team in Madrid. They will deliver excellent service to our clients, work closely with Underwriting teams, and provide accurate risk entry, record keeping, and reporting.
Successful candidates will be aligned with one of our lines of business such as Property, Marine, Aviation, Surety Casualty, Energy, Financial Lines, and A&H underwriting teams.
Successful candidates will support these areas across a variety of European countries including Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities: Summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premiums and exposures, and ensure complete accurate entry of submissions, quotes, risks, endorsements, and transactions to the Everest Underwriting System(s) for correct management, statistical, and regulatory reporting.Perform necessary data checks to ensure accuracy of underwriting data.Produce Wordings and Endorsements as requested by the Underwriter within the 5-day SLA using the relevant templates. Once approved, policy documents are to be sent to the Broker and address any queries they may have.Store all risk information and correspondence onto the document repository to ensure a complete and accurate audit trail of all substantive business activity.Ensure all relevant underwriting information is included for the peer review, risk entry, and data checking review process within the designated timeframe.Index and update underwriting information submitted electronically as appropriate within specified timeframes.Maintain tools containing key underwriting information to facilitate compliance checks, fraud, and financial crime monitoring pre-bind and post-bind.Assist underwriters during the underwriting process, production of management information, business development, and marketing.Provide administrative support to underwriters and the Operations team in areas including credit control, data quality, and training.Provide support to Underwriting teams within other classes of business when necessary.Perform any other ad hoc tasks as defined and agreed with the Operations Coordinators and the Operations Manager.
All functions to be performed in accordance with Everest target operating model, policies, and specific procedure manuals, as amended from time to time.
Experience required: 2 years of Insurance experience.Fluent in English.Fluent in Spanish.Fluent in German is preferred. Skills & Abilities: Logical, analytical, and resourceful.Excellent attention to detail.Confident and acts with urgency.Ability to review complex information and retain knowledge.Good organizational and communication skills.Ability to follow through on tasks/projects.Must be able to work alone but also contribute as part of a team.
