Your missionThe Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and other disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The IJC has laboratories in 5 clinical campuses: i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau, iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol, iv) Hospital del Mar, and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona.IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia and other diseases.

Specifically, we aim to understand the fundamental insights of vessel growth and function in development as well as to identify the pathological contexts in which the vasculature plays a critical role.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be involved in looking after our mouse colony and characterizing the biology of white adipose tissue by performing multiplexing staining and confocal microscopy.Your profileGeneral skillsA high level of motivation and enthusiasm for biomedical research.Bachelor's degree in biology or similar.Master's degree in biomedicine or similar.Knowledge in mouse models to study human diseases.Knowledge in the field of cancer.High level of collaborative and communicative skills.Good level of English speaking and writing skills (required), Catalan (helpful).Technical skillsKnowledge of basic cellular and molecular biology techniques, mouse handling, and statistical analysis.Knowledge in high-resolution microscopy.The ability to perform immunohistochemical/electrophysiological/behavioral analyses in mice is a plus.Why us?1-year full-time contract.Training contract (Contrato para la obtención de la práctica profesional).Be part of a young, collaborative, and international work environment with cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary teams of scientists, including experts in medicine, genomics, and bioinformatics.An exciting and innovative research project.The stimulating environment of the Barcelona metropolitan area.
