Java Software Developer (Data Services)

The teamThe Engineering team at Vonage is a fast growing group of talented engineers. They face multiple challenges associated with high performance, distributed systems, and processing large volumes of data in real time.We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a team dedicated to transforming the data pipeline to a real-time event-driven one. The team has numerous data related exciting initiatives in the works, with ample opportunities to make your own mark.The role- Design & build systems to process and analyze tens of millions of daily events- Real-time data processing using stream technologies (Kafka streaming or similar)- Work with big data technologies- Write efficient and scalable code- Develop on a public cloud infrastructureThe Stack- AWS (RDS, S3, EMR, ...)- Google Cloud (BigQuery, GDS)- Kafka- Java (somePython)- Docker, Kubernetes- Anything needed to achieve our goalsMust have:- Strong software engineering skills with interest in data.- Java- SQL / NoSQL- Experience dealing with event-driven pipeline (Kafka or other).- Willingness to learn and use new technology/programming language.Nice to have:- Experience with streaming framework- Experience with open source OLAP system (Druid, Pinot...)- Telecommunication knowledge- Docker and Kubernetes exposure- Experience with public cloud- PythonWhy VonageWe value disruptive innovation, getting things done, and working with passion and integrity are the values that matter at Nexmo.
