Our client is one of the non-profit organizations with the greatest impact in conflict areas, and they are looking for Digital Workplace Technical Support Level II Infrastructure for their offices in Barcelona.
Overview: The IT Infrastructure Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the various components of our IT infrastructure.
This position requires expertise in data center management, cloud services, virtualization, networking, Microsoft domain controller, ISP management, and T2 support for core systems and corporate applications.
It also requires expertise in handling a decentralized environment and solutions deployed across the globe, providing T2 support, and ensuring proper documentation and knowledge transfer to T1 technicians and internal teams. A transversal approach of IT security-by-design is also required for every single task performed under this role.
Overall, the IT Infrastructure Specialist will be involved in the technical evaluation of any new core technology that is implemented in our IT ecosystem and will take on a technical management role around them.
Main Responsibilities
1. Data Center Management:
• Monitor and manage data center operations globally.
• Ensure the availability, security, and efficiency of data center resources (including backup system management).
• Implement and maintain best practices for data center infrastructure.
2. Cloud Management:
• Manage both private and public IaaS solutions.
• Manage cloud resources efficiently to meet organizational requirements.
• Implement and optimize cloud security measures.
3. Virtualization:
• Administer and optimize virtualization systems.
• Ensure the smooth operation of virtualized environments.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions for virtualized systems.
4. File Server and File Transfer System:
• Administer and maintain file servers and file transfer systems, either on-prem or cloud.
• Implement access controls and ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve file server-related issues.
5. Local Networking:
• Configure and manage local networking components (switching, routing, firewalling).
• Coordinate the technical support requested to external partners providing support or maintenance services to local network solutions.
• Implement and maintain network security measures defined by IT Security team.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, both, wired and wireless.
6. Microsoft Domain Controller Provisioning:
• Deploy and manage Microsoft domain controller services when necessary.
• Implement and ensure the provisioning of Active Directory services.
• Ensure seamless integration with other IT systems.
7. Internet Service Providers (ISP) Management:
• Analyse with ISPs the best connectivity design for the different networks and locations.
• Monitor and optimize network connectivity.
• Collaborate with ISPs to address connectivity issues.
8. Infrastructure T2 Support:
• Provide second-level support for IT infrastructure elements of core systems and applications.
• Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to address complex technical issues linked to core IT infrastructure.
9. Corporate Applications Support:
• Provide T2 support for IT infrastructure related tasks on core corporate applications such as ERP (SAP basis), CRM, HRIS, and other that could be implemented at corporate level in the future.
• Collaborate with application owners and vendors to ensure overall security approach over systems and apps infrastructure.
10. Documentation, reporting and Knowledge Transfer:
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for infrastructure configurations and procedures under their technical domain.
• Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance and incidents.
• Share knowledge with T1 technicians and internal teams through training sessions and documentation reviews.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements.

Technical skills: Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and IT best practices. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of IT security frameworks: COBIT, CIS controls, NIST, ISO/IEC 27000. Desirable knowledge of best practices frameworks and standard methodologies: ITIL, SCRUM, Agile, PRINCE2, or similar.Education and experience: University degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent additional working experience. Proven experience of at least 2 years in a similar IT infrastructure role with a focus on global IT infrastructure management. Advanced level of English & Spanish. Proven experience in the following technologies is a plus: Microsoft Azure, Palo Alto firewall, VMware, HP network equipment, CISCO Meraki, BrightStor ARCserve backup.
