GAWA Capital is currently launching a newfund focusing on the climate change resilience of vulnerable communities in emerging markets with an innovative blending finance structure. We believe that increasing smallholder farmers and small businesses' access to tailor-made financial services is key to improving their resilience and adaptation to climate change enabling them to implement improved agricultural practices and assets.
This new fund aims to increase smallholders' and small businesses' access to climate/green financing by investing in agriculture and MSME-focused financial service providers and providing technical assistance that will strengthen their green product design & and offering, processes & and risk management, and employee capabilities. Besides, the fund will also support climate solutions providers to expand the number of available mitigation and adaptation solutions in the market that targets smallholders and small businesses.

Purpose of the PositionThe Senior Investment Officer shall be responsible for leading end-to-end investments for GAWA Capital funds, from origination to execution, to maximize its financial and impact returns.
Key Responsibilities • Building a strong network across Latin America and Asia to originate debt and equity investment
opportunities.
• Identifying, cultivating, and executing an attractive pipeline of investment opportunities that fit with GAWA's investment strategy.
• Leading investments from origination to closing, preparing financial models, and drafting investment memorandums.
• Managing due diligence, negotiations, and legal documentation.
• Closely collaborating with the Portfolio Management team to support investees' monitoring.
• Closely collaborating with the Technical Assistance and Impact team to promptly identify technical
assistance projects and monitoring the projects and the impact created by the investment. Requirements and competences to work with usEducation University degree in finance, business, economics, or engineering; relevant graduate studies would be a plus.Experience • 4+ years of investment experience in private equity, venture capital, or impact investment.
• Previous experience in impact investing is a strong plus.
• Previous experience with Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Solutions (nature-based solutions, energy generation and efficiency, transport, etc.) in emerging markets is a plus.
• Previous experience building a network across Latin America. Knowledge and Skills • High analytical skills, with proven capacity to analyze financial statements and prepare final models.
• Strong communication skills, being confident to present to investment committees.
