As we continue to grow we are on the lookout for a talented and experienced individual to join our great team in Madrid, in the role of an International Works Manager.
As a Works Manager you will represent the company in the delivery of the project, receive instruction on behalf of the company, issue instruction and provide direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Some of your duties will include: Day to day management of site-based construction works, carrying a daily coordination meeting among subcontractors or client when required. Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design. Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and 10-minute briefings. Ensure subcontractors deliver work to meet safety, quality and programme requirements and sufficient resources are allocated to the work section and that each has an appropriate level of ability. Supervise subcontractors to ensure quality and a "right first-time approach." Carry out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S Plan. Contribute to Accident / Incident Investigations.
Review and direct the appropriate action arising. Input into the setting of targets and KPIs in line with Project timeframes and monitor performance works to ensure appropriate action is taken on findings from site audits/checks. Implement and track the requirements of the weekly programme and encourage others in ensuring programme requirements are fully understood, suggesting improvements as appropriate. Monitor construction programme and cost plans, identify and manage risks. Ensure all plant and equipment used is fit for purpose, only operated by suitably trained personnel, and regularly inspected. Record and update site diaries. Adopt, maintain and promote cost-conscious management through efficient use of all resources. Liaise with the client and their advisors and fully understand their needs and expectations. Champion the wellbeing of your teams and ensure that an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience is actively encouraged and achieved. Minimum qualification and experience you will need to succeed in this role: Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations. Knowledge within the construction industry with proven technical and project management abilities in multidisciplinary projects. Experience working as a team leader. Computer literate with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work. Good attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and proactive. Strong organisational and management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in both Spanish and English is highly desirable; however, English speakers with a proven track record of working in multicultural projects are essential. CSCS, SMSTS, SEATS certifications.
