Keep reading and tumble down the Mews rabbit hole...About the roleMews is an innovative, rapidly growing company seeking a talented and experienced in-house Legal Counsel specializing in Employment to join our Legal team.

We champion a talent-first, location mindset which allows our employees to work wherever they are and Mews to access top talent across the world.Your mission, should you choose to accept itPolicy Development:Develop, review, and update employment policies and procedures to reflect legal and regulatory changes in key jurisdictions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure policies are consistent and align with the company's values and business objectives.People team enablement and support:Develop standardized frameworks, knowledge base, and playbooks for recurring employment queries to help scale the operations.
Provide proactive advice on issues arising throughout the employee lifecycle, including contract review, employment terms and conditions, benefits, investigations, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution, and work closely with People Team to mitigate employment-related risks.
Support People Team with external unions on employment issues, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.People Strategy:Collaborate with People Team and senior management to develop and execute global people strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
Provide legal counsel on workforce planning, talent acquisition, complex global mobility, and cross-border employment matters.Litigation Management:Collaborate with external counsel to manage employment-related litigation matters.
Provide strategic advice on dispute resolution and risk mitigation.Training and Education:Develop and deliver training sessions for the People and management teams on relevant employment laws and best practices.
Advise on training programs for employees to promote awareness of legal obligations and company policies.You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with youJ.D.
degree and licensed/barred in good standing in the UK or at least one US state.5+ years with law firm and/or in-house experience required with a focus on employment law, preferably in an international context.Can quickly establish trusted relationships with your internal clients.
Must be able to work effectively, collaboratively, and cross-functionally with Mewsers at all levels of our organization.Ability to listen critically and evaluate risk considering business and practical considerations and provide clear guidance.Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Exhibit grace and flexibility under pressure.Be a self-starter and comfortable with operating in evolving and challenging situations.
Be an accelerator of the business by providing proactive, responsive, solutions-oriented legal support.Don't be afraid to think outside the box and produce new ideas to build a better Mews.
Be innovative and cutting-edge.
