We specialise in mining, earthmoving, civil infrastructure and training services, currently delivering on major projects throughout metropolitan and Regional Australia.We are currently seeking a HSEQ Manager based at our Malaga Office with site travel required on an ad-hoc basis.The RoleIn this role as the HSEQ Manager you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the Carey Group HSEQ management systems, across all sites to ensure Regulatory, Statutory and Contractual compliance in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality.You will oversee the design, maintenance, and ongoing development of the Carey Group integrated management system along with contributions to the identification and implementation of HSEQ initiatives to enhance our workplace safety culture.Core Responsibilities of the role are as follows:Oversee and contribute to the maintenance of Carey's Integrated Management System to ensure compliance with third-party certifications and other accreditations / pre-qualifications held by the organisation. These include but are not limited to: ISO9001, IS014001, ISO45001, Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC), National Pre- Qualification System for Civil (road and bridge) Construction; and others as deemed required by the Management Team.Monitor HSEQ legislation and changes to legislation.Ensure all relevant legislative and regulatory changes are reviewed for inclusion in the HSEQ management system and communicated to process owners and key roles.Audit HSEQ performance against Carey Group processes and systems and Legal requirements to ensure compliance of company and client requirements.Co-ordinate statutory reporting requirements.Liaison with 3rd party Certification/ Accreditation/ Pre-Qualification HSEQ auditors.Foster an effective feedback system to ensure that accurate and timely information regarding HSEQ is communicated throughout the Group.Oversee investigations into all reported hazards and initiate remedial action pursuant with all company / client requirements.Report to the Executive/Management team on all accidents / incidents, recommendations, corrective and preventative actions.Ensure that HSEQ performance data is effectively collected, stored, analysed, tracked, and reported according to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.Assist site-based teams to identify project HSEQ risks, recommend controls, & where agreed, implement processes to mitigate the identified risk to Carey Group and the client.Co-ordinate site injury management across all project sites.In conjunction with site managers, continually seek out and develop new methodologies for HSEQ issues and initiatives.Foster relationships with clients and sub-contractors in the area of site HSEQ Management.Act as a conduit for communication with clients and ensure immediate resolution of any concerns and total customer satisfaction in regard to site HSEQ management.Ensure effective communication with Carey Group executive and management at all times regarding site HSEQ issues.Oversee the Carey Group Document Control process, ensuring that all soft and hard copy documents and information is accurate, traceable, and managed in a document control system that makes it easy for users at all levels to use.Oversee the Lessons Learnt Review on completion of projects,Define, evaluate, and audit the requirement of supplier / subcontractor quality systems.Co-ordinate with Project Managers to ensure all supplier and subcontractor technical and compliance issues are resolved.The RequirementsThe ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience:10yrs significant exposure to HSEQ requirements within the Resources, and Civil Construction industries, from a Contracting perspective.Thorough understanding of HSEQ legislative requirements.Understanding of and demonstrated working knowledge of ISO standards for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.Demonstrable experience fostering a Safety Culture.Highly experienced in conducting incident investigations.Previous experience managing a team of individuals spread across various sites.The successful candidate for this position must have the following qualifications:Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.Tertiary qualifications in Environmental management (desirable).Extensive experience in Quality Management.Lead Auditor recognised qualification, either Safety (ISO45001) or Quality (ISO 9001) and Environment (ISO 14001), ICAM/Taproot or similar investigation training. Cert IV in Training & Assessment (desirable, but not essential).Applicants may be required to take part in pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol and physical agility.The BenefitsGrowing Mining and Civil business.Competitive salary package.In return you will have the opportunity to work for a successful Indigenous owned and family-oriented business that offers a competitive remuneration based on skills and experience plus access to a range of exciting employee benefits.Carey Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.Unsolicited CVs from agencies will not be accepted.
