Engineering - We are looking for a strong HSE Director just North of Barcelona, Spain! This is a newly structured role where we expect you to define and review the vision, policies, and objectives of occupational risk prevention. In this role, you will create and consolidate significant indicators of health and safety management and lead the implementation of safety culture programs.

Areas of responsibility will include:
Active leadership and support for safety and health initiatives at the site and mine.Leading continuous improvement in management systems.Leading processes to achieve goals and meeting them proactively while preventing events.Managing and leading the health, safety, risk management, and security activities throughout the Site.Management of the HSS systems team (4 FTE) and functional leadership to the Safety Operational Team.Ensuring compliance with Health Safety and Security (HSS) through close work with HSS teams, management, and all functions in the organization including company headquarters and contractors.Maintaining management routines, monitoring and controlling the goals and indices, work plans, and corrective actions while producing weekly and monthly reports.Leading and implementing the global OEMS and HOP methodology on the site.Leading and implementing global HSS tools including Enablon and GOARC, the ERM risk management processes, and operational risk management - PSM.Ensuring a culture of risk awareness and risk management processes such as JSA for roles and tasks, while ensuring the implementation of controls and that employees are aware of the processes.Initiating a culture of proactive learning processes for event prevention as well as learning processes for events that occurred for the purpose of constructing defenses and preventing recurrence.Leading the continuous improvement of the ISO45001 management system and other relevant standards.Taking an active part in global work teams, the European Safety Forum, and the professional steering committees.We are looking for an experienced professional that has proven experience with leading and implementing new initiatives in the health and safety function, preferably in a chemical company, construction, or general industrial sector. You have a relevant degree (Bachelor or Master) in health and safety / NEBOSH, mining, and/or engineering combined with managing people experience.
In addition, we look for the following experience or skills:
Certificates in accordance with Spanish law are preferred.Strong organizational and leadership/management skills (good influencing, "lead the change" skills).Experience in managing HSS Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs.Fluent in Spanish and English.Experience in mines would be a big plus.Are you meeting all the requirements but not living in the area or even in Spain?
