What will I be doing? Define the Platform Engineering (PE) vision and strategy:
Work with your teams and stakeholders to create the PE roadmap and commit to its delivery. Add value to our developers' lives by growing the Platform's features. Engage with your peers in other engineering units under the CTO to promote adoption of the new features in the common platform. Provide the tools that increase Stuart's reliability, availability and scalability. Build on the existing FinOps strategy to continue to deliver cloud efficiencies. Manage remote teams in European and near-shore locations. Create a healthy and cooperative environment within your teams. Execute performance reviews and create growth opportunities for your people. Attend the Barcelona office (prime central location) 2/3 days a week. Be part of the Engineering Leadership Team driving our engineering function. What do we need from you? A strong technical background in cloud computing (we use AWS) & SRE. Experience leading Platform Engineering, "DevOps" or SRE teams. Good knowledge and experience with software development. Experience with directly managing technical Engineering Managers. Capacity to run a department with several teams, composed of both hybrid and remote team members. A product mindset to build an internal developer platform. Ideally, some solid knowledge of Data Platform Engineering. Comfortable presenting to ExCo and interacting with other senior leaders. Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language.
