In Vifor Pharma we have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of MSLs in Spain. In this role you will be managing a large team of MSLs at different levels of their career. You will also be responsible for defending Vifor's interests in Iron deficiency anaemia, cardio-renal and nephrology. Some of the products are in prelaunch phase. The incumbent needs to have strong medical strategy experience, ability to work cross functionally and strong leadership expertise. This is a position based preferably in Barcelona and approx. 30% of the time will be spent in field medical activities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, develop and coach country MSL teams in alignment with global Field Medical Excellence guidance.Define, plan and execute Field Medical Strategies based on country medical plans.Establish strong, professional and credible Country Medical Affairs reputation and relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), HCPs, professional organisations and key accounts.Drive MSL team medical expertise in TAs and products, and demonstrate scientific engagement with the medical community. Build medical values story for relevant products.Lead KOL mapping to determine appropriate MSL staffing and alignment for engaging KOLs, Academic Centres and Key Accounts.Develop, implement and ensure optimal therapeutic area and product medical training in accordance with global and local strategies, compliance and regulations.MSL leadership and coaching: IPDs, Development Plans, best practice sharing, KOL engagement, presentations, co-visits, etc. Drive operational excellence of the MSL teams.Lead scientific engagement strategies, Disease State Education, clinical presentations and responses to medical requests (medical information).Ensure appropriate communication and strategy alignment between MSL/medical strategies and country colleagues (sales, market access).Lead medical support for KOL advocacy and formulary access within MSL team following global and local policies and procedures.Lead & coordinate company sponsored clinical research and IIS process support within the country.Ensure compliance with applicable local and global laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies and procedures.Minimum RequirementsUniversity degree in Medical or Life Science Field (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology/ Biochemistry).Substantial experience in medical affairs roles and understanding of healthcare compliance requirements locally and globally.Demonstrated leadership experience in a medical function. Experience managing MSLs is strongly preferred.Clinical and/or research experience in Internal Medicine, Nephrology or Cardiology.Demonstrated experience in KOL, HCP or medical community engagement.Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish; experience with digital communication; good oral and written communication skills in English.Strong track record in KOL engagement.Experience in public scientific presentations.Ability for overnight travel, up to 50%.About UsThe Vifor Pharma Group is a global specialty pharmaceuticals company.
