Scope is looking for an experienced Head of Internal Controls for the Group, based in Berlin or Frankfurt. The role will be reporting to the COO and has in addition a functional reporting line to the CEO and supervisory board of Scope Group. The main responsibility is leading, managing, and driving the development of the Internal control function on group level. The Head of Internal Group Controls will coordinate and develop internal control processes and maintain Scope Group's policies and procedures framework. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in internal control and a solid knowledge of regulations, guidelines and procedures.Your tasks & responsibilitiesCreate Scope's internal audit plan on a group level and perform the related audits from beginning to end. Key activities include audit planning, stakeholder management, fieldwork execution, reporting, and validation of remediated audit findings.Provide leadership and guidance on the identification, assessment, and management of risks within Scope Group and its subsidiaries.Advise management on compliance matters.Review and evaluate the adequacy and timeliness of group management's response and the corrective action taken on internal audit findings, including validation of remediation activities.Prepare relevant and adequate audit materials for the Audit Committee and Executive Board.Establish and maintain trusted relationships within business unit management across all levels.Work closely with both first and second lines of defence across Scope Group to maximise utility, testing efficiencies, and internal controls review coverage across the organisation.Serve as a value-add and advisory function to business partners by identifying ways to address audit findings or opportunities for enhancements with the goal of mitigating risk and improving the company's ability to meet business objectives without compromising 3rd line of defence independence and objectivity.Maintain Scope Groups policies and procedures framework.Conduct independent audits for holding and non-CRA regulated entities.Conduct investigations on irregularities and errors.Promote new ideas / innovative means of executing projects and internal infrastructure enhancements focused on process or technology improvements.Your personal & professional profileAdvanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, a related field, or comparable.Extensive professional experience at a senior level in the financial services industry or comparable regulated industry.Strong knowledge of financial markets and products, internal control systems as well as corresponding regulations, policies, and procedures.Experience in liaising with the various management and supervisory bodies of a group, as well as the management of corresponding boards and committees.Proven experience in building and operating internal control functions, ideally within a group structure.Accept responsibility, perform multi-task, prioritise and work with an entrepreneurial attitude in an international regulated environment under tight deadlines.Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.High ethical standards and the ability to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.Excellent communication skills in English and German, both written and oral.Interested?
