Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide.Job TitleSafety Assurance Engineer (SAE)Duration - LocationPermanent - Madrid.Purpose of the JobPerform the activities (under the governance/guidance of the PSAM) related to safety assurance in the projects.Has a working knowledge of Safety Methods: Safety Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA), Operation & Support Hazard Analysis (OSHA), Safety related Item List (SRIL), Hazard Log (HL), V&V; Safety Report, and Safety Case.ObjectivesProvide technical expertise/guidance and support at every step of the product/project life cycle: from tender, design, commissioning and warranty.Detailed objectives will be set by the RC-SAM.MeasurementSuccess will be determined by a variety of measurements including:No "NO GO" for Safety reasons in Gate Reviews.Assessment Findings: low rework due to External / Internal Assessments.Late Safety Requirements Identification.Safety Findings: Quality of the inputs.Project completed on time and at budget.Client comfortable with ALSTOM's approach.Completeness and acceptance of the project Safety Case.Safety Related Application Conditions (SRACs) management with Operator, Maintenance and Infrastructure.Quality of working relationships with Project/Product/Engineering team and site safety officers.Lowering the cost of project safety while maintaining safety standard of the project: reference libraries optimization.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the elaboration of the Safety Reports and the Safety Case under the guidance of the PSAM.Attend periodic Safety Reviews.Support actions contributing to close the findings of the assessors (Internal or External).Educational RequirementsEngineering degree.Specific training in Railway Safety Domain.Spanish and English are mandatory.French is desired.Desired Knowledge / ExperienceMinimum 2 years in Safety Assurance in connected Railway Signalling Safety Projects.Experience in ERTMS onboard projects.Successful experience in working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment.Behavioural Skills / CompetenciesPositive personality.Rigorous and reliable.Promote teamwork and communication.Planning culture, committed to deliver on time.Technical Skills & CompetenciesGood practice of dependability study techniques (PHA, SHA, FMECA, FTAs).Practical experience of European and International Technical Standards (e.g. CENELEC 50126, 50128, 50129).Proven experience in Safety Case delivery to final customer.Experience with external Independent Safety Assessment (ISAs).Technical knowledge in ERTMS onboard is mandatory.Technical knowledge in ETCS-Trackside L1 and L2 subsystem and Interlocking subsystem is desired.Technical knowledge in CBTC is desired.Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow's mobility.
