On March 1, 2024, Allegion acquired privately held Dorcas (Montajes electronicos Dorcas S.L.
), which includes its brands and other assets.
Dorcas is a leading manufacturer of electro-mechanical access control systems both in Spain and internationally, specializing in electric strikes, electric locks, electromagnetic locks, and complementary access control systems and door control products.
Annual revenue is $10 million and has over 50 employees in Spain.
Dorcas, based in Siete Aguas (Valencia), Spain, was founded in 1971.
The Dorcas business will now operate as part of the Allegion Home & Work business unit within the Allegion International segment.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist provides support to the organization to enable integration, development, engagement, and support for Dorcas into Allegion H&W Business Unit.
This position is concerned with any dynamics concerning Dorcas' full organization in Siete Aguas (Valencia) in consistency with HR H&W priorities and processes.
In addition, the HR Generalist is responsible for full-life cycle talent attraction, talent development and engagement, payroll, reporting, training plans, and HR metrics for both Spanish entities (Dorcas and Cerraduras).
Finally, the HR Generalist will collaborate within the H&W HR community to harmonize current contracts and benefits to the Allegion comp&ben policies.
Over time, the focus will widen to include human resources programs which may involve development, employee or labor relations, and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance.
Completes Dorcas and Cerraduras personnel transactions and maintains associated records.
Initially, will report to the CEO of Dorcas, with a dotted line to the H&W HR Director.
Principal Responsibilities
• Works with the team to enhance the integration of Dorcas HR policies within Allegion HR Community.
• Supports during the integration phase for anything regarding HR matters: contracts, admin tasks and documentation, comp&ben harmonization, etc.
• Provides HR expertise, partnering with Dorcas Leaders, 1st level managers, and Frontline leaders, helping them perform operational needs and KPIs for both Spanish locations.
• Serves as the first point of contact for HR admin tasks and payroll, providing HR support to employees (white and blue collars) for employment issues and questions, ensuring labor law, local collective agreements, regulations, and policies are respected.
• Prevents conflicts and manages disciplinary actions when needed, always using tact, discretion, and empathy.
• Creates and maintains reports and dashboards to support client groups (Workday, Strengths Finder, and engagement), ensuring data integrity.
• Provides support for Talent Management processes (Succession Planning, Growth Roadmaps, etc.
).
• Provides Talent Acquisition and onboarding support for all hires.
• Supports talent programs such as internships, co-ops, and other early career talent programs.
• Interacts with public offices and institutions at the local level.
• Additional projects to support client groups as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Management, Psychology, or Business.
• 10+ years of experience in general Human Resources: employee relations, talent acquisition and management, change management.
• Knowledge and experience with Spanish employment law.
• Skilled at indirect leadership & influencing others with the ability to navigate a matrix organization.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an engaged team.
• Strong technological skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience in creating dashboards and analyzing data reports.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, professionals, and remote employees.
• Detail-oriented, organized, with a strong sense of urgency.
• Orientation to problem-solving, managing conflict, influencing, multi-tasking, and managing change.
• Experience in a multinational environment is preferable.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Valencia district based.
• High energy, passion, resilience & determination.
• Excellently skilled at creating or providing communication to the organization.
• Travel propensity: up to 25-30% between Spanish locations (Valencia & Calatayud).
