DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA AND JOB DESCRIPTION
The Device Development Center (DDC) position offered will be part of the fixed access team at Madrid (Spain) of the Chief Technology and Information Office of Telefónica. The group is a team of fixed access engineers leading the definition of the development of all the fixed devices available for all Telefónica OBs.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The objectives of the position offered are:
Project management for the different phases of the home devices development. Supervise the product development (R&D) phase, managing key milestones and technical deliverables.Define the technical and functional requirements of the product, working closely with the rest of the groups to cover all the necessities.Establish and manage the project schedule, identifying risks and applying corrective measures when necessary.Coordinate the testing phase (QA), validation, and certification of the router before its launch to the market.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.Collaboration to start production and commercial launch of the service in Spain, Brazil, DE, and UK.Prepare and manage regular project status reports.Identification of business requirements related to virtualization and cloudification to improve the use of all the information available in Telefónica devices and cloud platforms.Analyze the feasibility of implementing the new APIs on client devices.Market evaluation and testing for products and vendors applicable to virtualization of the client devices.Collaboration in the design activities and end-to-end developments and their integration in the network.Collaboration in the architecture proposal.Planning and ensure the compliance with the times of the implementation of the new APIs in the client device.EDUCATION REQUIRED
MsC in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Networking or any other engineering degree.
SPECIFIC SKILLS

Capability to understand business requirements and convert them into technological requirements. Capability to interact with providers and integrators to run evaluation processes. Capability to communicate at different levels (directors, engineers, etc.) to disseminate architecture propositions. Project management capabilities. Dynamic attitude, self-learner, and proactive.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge in the area of home network specifications and standards. Strong knowledge in the area of home device technology. Strong knowledge in WiFi technology. Strong knowledge in cloud technology (AZURE). Knowledge of systems and service platforms. Knowledge of monitoring technology and zero-touch operation. Knowledge of integration and API technology. Knowledge of public cloud services and cloud architecture. Ability to establish test plans to ensure the proper functioning of the APIs and their application on client devices.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the following activities will be valuable: Home networks: new technologies, protocols, and Network architectures. Cloud technology (AZURE, GCP, AWS). Open SW platforms (OPEN Sync, RDK-B, etc.). Experience in testing in a lab environment.
LANGUAGES
Spanish language is mandatory. English language is mandatory. Portuguese and/or German will be considered.
