Global Packaging Operation Engineer Main Purpose: The Technical Packaging Engineer is part of the Organization for Packaging Engineering and Technology (DPX). This position interacts with internal and external stakeholders to create, design, and develop packaging structures for complex projects focused on packaging cost saving and harmonization, product transfers, new product launches, as well as business protection comprising all changes to marketed products. Packaging that is safe, effective, and compliant. Business solutions that are smart, efficient, and operational. Consumer experiences that are ownable, intuitive, and engaging.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Business protection & maintenance activities for internal sites and CMO including:Identification and implementation of cost-saving activities across the packaging portfolio.Identification and implementation of harmonization projects to reduce complexity and optimize cost.Development and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions.Ensures packaging solution meets local and global regulations.Leads packaging activities change controls, assessment and approval, deviations, investigations.Leads packaging transfer to internal factory and CMO.Plans and implements the development of packaging initiatives, such as local NPDs and product transfers.Facilitates the resolution of problems during the development process to meet customers' needs and provides guidance to continuously improve processes.Ensures smooth collaboration with the broader DPX groups as well as all cross-functional partners to guarantee transfer of information, alignment on strategic needs, and adherence to requirements.Acts as the key technical lead via researching, identifying, and evaluating new package materials and equipment to ensure manufacturing operations are functional and cost-efficient.Scope: Local, regional, global. All Consumer Health Global (excl. US), Global CMOs, and Internal sites.
Qualifications & Competencies: Education: Packaging Engineering Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent degree) with minimum 5 years experience, Master's Degree (or equivalent degree) with minimum 2 years experience.Experience: A proven track record in managing packaging development, including the creation, development & delivery of new packaging and business protection & maintenance of launched packaging, ensuring efficient production and best-in-class quality in the supply chain. Consumer healthcare or FMCG experience is an advantage.
