ODOS is looking for a geography specialist to join the company to assist in dataset creation, curation, and quality control.
Job TasksDataset creation: ODOS has developed a remote sensing product to map landscapes using Object Based Image Analysis. The dataset consists of datapoints from Ireland, but as the product will be used in other European countries, new datapoints from those regions need to be added to the model. The intern will assist the lead analyst in creating new datasets for Spain, Finland, and the UK. The specialist will be supplied with imagery and use QGIS to create a dataset for each country.Quality Control of Datapoints: The specialist will work alongside the lead analyst to ensure the data points added to the model are of the highest quality. The specialist and the lead analyst will check the data points created by the other and rate the quality of the datapoint, with only those datapoints that reach a high-quality standard being used for the in-production model.Quality Control of Product: ODOS Harvesters remote sensing product maps the landcovers of farms to measure the amount of biodiversity at each farm. The specialist will review the landcover maps and assess the quality of the output before the customer is notified that the product is ready.
