.The General Accountant ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, manages audits, tax and government reporting, and maintains the general ledger. He/she also performs bank reconciliations, cash and inventory reviews, and supports budgeting and financial forecasting.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the information presented in all reports is accurate and reflects actual business and financial transactions.Ensure that all reports are prepared in a timely manner, meeting established deadlines and quality standards.Conduct periodic cash reviews and assist in surprise audits of the hotel's cash fund.Assist in conducting surprise inventory inspections, in addition to month-end inventory counts performed by the Cost department.Prepare and maintain all required documentation for audits and comply with fiscal requirements.Provide assistance during the audit process (internal and external).Manage and coordinate tax filing and government reporting procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.Maintain the General Ledger up to date with accurate accounting entries.Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts at the end of each month, ensuring accuracy and correctness.Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations with online bank statements.Prepare assigned monthly accounting entries and perform distribution of expenses between departments.Support in the budgeting and financial projection of the different departments.Maintain the hotel's up-to-date fixed asset register.Have a thorough knowledge of accounting functions and the ability to monitor, correct and demonstrate procedures to hotel quality standards.Ensure that all files and reports are properly organised and filed for future reference.Participate in conducting quarterly, semi-annual and annual inventories of operating equipment and materials.Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Finance Director and Finance Manager.University degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.Fluency in Spanish.
