Offer Description If you're a web developer interested in projects related to climate, the environment, and climate change, this offer is a great opportunity for you.
We are looking for a web developer/designer to improve and expand the climate service portals of our group.
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Engineering, or alternatively in Physics, Mathematics, other engineering fields, or Web Application Design.
Experience in web development and design.
Valuable Skills:
Experience with web frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar.
Experience in web-based data visualization systems, using technologies like D3, Chart.js, JQuery, Bootstrap, or similar.
Knowledge or experience in UI/UX.
Experience in handling/manipulating geographic data, using technologies like Leaflet, Mapbox, GIS, or similar.
Experience in development on GNU/Linux systems, with knowledge of administration and virtualization environments.
Knowledge of Big Data and programming in R and Python.
Ability to work independently and adapt to new project demands is highly valued.
Development of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for climate data viewers.
Deployment of applications in server environments.
Contract Duration:
Duration until July 2026.
Around €40,000 gross per year.
Work Location:
On-site work at the Aula Dei Campus – Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Avenida Montañana, 1005, 50059 Zaragoza.
Possibility of remote work for a significant part of the working hours.
Interdisciplinary team with a very positive work environment.
The Climate and Climate Services Laboratory of the CSIC includes some of the most recognized climate and global change researchers in the world. In recent years, it has developed various tools and websites focused on knowledge transfer, a direction that is currently being strengthened.
