What you will doThe position will be responsible to drive the role that Finance as a function plays in the Sales and Operations execution/planning process at the Plant level. You will be the key business partner with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and the rest of the Finance organization ensuring the policies and procedures are followed and that all considerations are incorporated into the financial plans. This includes leading effective communication with the Executive Team regarding the risks, opportunities, and implications of the decisions made during the regular process.How you will do itDrive the S&OE/P process from a Finance perspective including actively participating in the different weekly process meetings (i.e., Demand / Supply / Executive reviews).Partner with the Sales and Operations leaders in validating the completeness, granularity, and reasonability of the demand plan at the unit and dollar level.Analyze and align with Ops the production constraints and their impact on the material plan, incorporate capacity constraints into the material buy plan.Participate in the reconciliation of the Demand signal vs. the Production plan and Purchase plan.Incorporate into the financial scenarios (i.e., PLAN / Outlook etc.) the outcome of the regular S&OE/P process and establish targets that are consistent with the expected business outcome.Approve purchase orders for material ordered not consistent with the approved purchase plan.Cooperate with the inventory planning team to drive actions to deliver the monthly DIOH targets.Prepare monthly reports/metrics related to the Finance S&OE process at the plant level.Active involvement in preventing inventory obsolescence and in driving actions with other functional teams.Develop decision tree logic for the inventory obsolescence provisions (i.e., Can we sell to an aftermarket supplier / marketing run a promotion / material be re-worked / write off).Develop effective control procedures to improve the process.Proactively find opportunities and corrective actions and work with the relevant team in their implementation.What we look forRequiredBS Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.10+ years progressive finance and accounting experience in Manufacturing environments.Experience working with Operations preferably in the Sales and Operations execution and planning processes.Outstanding ability to communicate, motivate, partner with business operation leaders, work cross-functionally and get results in a highly matrixed global organization.Ability to travel to locations as business conditions require; Estimate 10%.PreferredSoftware skills: MS Project and MS Office, SAP, HFM, and OneStream.MBA / CPA.Our cultureAt Johnson Controls, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting projects in today's market.
