The purpose of the role: The mission of the Finance organization is articulated around 3 functional areas: 1) protect the business assets, 2) fuel the business with timely & accurate insight & analytics, and 3) co-drive sustainable business growth & expansion.
The Head of Controlling and Treasury will be responsible for leading, administering, and coordinating our Europe and Africa accounting processes & activities, tax and statutory accounts filing, cash management, and external audits.
In this position, you will have a high level of interaction with the Corporate Finance team and Europe & Africa Executive management team. Additionally, you will be a key partner with HR and IT executive members.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Controlling:Act as the first line contact with the global controlling team.Accountability for the monthly and year-end accounts, with corresponding supporting papers.Supervision of the consolidated/statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for all entities in Europe & Africa.Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and statutory requirements for all entities in Europe & Africa.Responsible for transfer pricing policies well implemented and reviewed on a regular basis.Lead audit engagement and activities for Europe and Africa entities.Advise the company on all legal and tax requirements when designing and creating new entities setup.Maintain a proper and efficient internal control environment supported by check & balance, segregation of duties, and audit trail principles.Accounting Activities:Provide technical accounting advice and coaching to support the Finance function, team members, and wider business.GL accounting team ensuring records are maintained in an accurate and efficient manner and that all control accounts are recorded accurately.Accounts payable team, ensuring all agreed operational policies are applied and payments are made to terms.Accounts receivable team, ensuring rigorous credit control in place (collection process, credit limits, payment terms).End2End Cash Management:Act as the first line contact with the global treasury team.Supervision of treasury function including day-to-day cash management and weekly cash forecasting.Manage the cash pooling across Europe & Africa and oversee all activities of the FinCo.People Leadership:As a member of the Finance Leadership team in Europe & Africa and as an ambassador of the company, operates within defined company values and openly supports these operating principles.Leads effectively the team (as assigned) with respect to work and resource planning, recruiting, selection and hiring, orientation, training and development, talent management, succession planning, health and safety, employee relations, and performance management.Coaching, developing, and motivating the team to achieve the functional objectives and their personal growth goals while ensuring and promoting a collaborative culture aligned with our company valued behaviors.Proactively and visibly supports the Health and Safety standards, rules, and regulations of the organization.Managing a direct team of +4 employees and total team supervision of +-14 people.Requirements:Master/Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance; MBA is a plus.A certified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or previous experience in Big4.Senior level experience in accounting management and/or financial controlling in an international context. Typically, this position would require a minimum of 10 years' experience in progressively responsible positions within finance working across countries.Previous consolidation exposure and cash management experience is highly desired.Experience with cost accounting in manufacturing environments.Previous experiences in leading Audit engagement and activities, as well with US GAAP.Strong knowledge in Tax and Transfer pricing practices.Highly skilled in Excel (Macros, Financial modelling).Analytical skill, eye for detail, accuracy, with high working standard.Previous exposure to D365 and BPC is an asset.Proven track record in people management (developing, coaching, mentoring, directing) and budget management.Experience attracting and selecting the best talent to meet current and future business needs.Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills. Communicates effectively by developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.Track record of consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.Ability to manage complexity, making sense of complex, high quality, and sometimes contradictory information.
