.About The Role:About this opportunity: Environmental and Permitting consultant will give support during site due diligence, design and construction phases for hyper-scale data centre projects, coordinating the delivery of the environmental deliverables, identifying risks and best practices to embed into the process on a day-to-day basis, advise and support the team in analysing issues, continuous improvement and updating of internal processes and procedures.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide guidance and support internal stakeholders in order to positively influence sites selected for Site Due Diligence (SDD).Coordinate with the legal team for agreeing Public Service Agreements and T&Cs with the sellers of land to ensure project environmental and permitting legal risks are appropriately understood.Work with the procurement team to identify environmental needs at each stage of the project and select suitable, site-specific consultants to approach.Prepare environmental scopes of services for varying project stages and co-ordinate with the land development, design and construction teams to ensure consistency.Create communication links between disciplines.Manage and review the work of external environmental consultants.Provide environmental permitting project advice to the SGE team to feed into consultation and engagement activities.Guide the external consultant to provide the fastest environment permitting route without compromising the integrity of the environment permitting process.Provide support to the public relations team regarding environmental and project risks/impacts when community liaison is required.Management of external consultant deliverables and schedule during permitting/EIA process.Identifying risks and costs associated with environmental requirements to build into project schedules and budget.Working with design team and consultants to ensure any environmental mitigation/enhancement required as part of an EIA/permit process/local country requirements is accurately reflected in the evolving design.Provide support in discussions with regulatory authorities where required, to confirm permit requirements and timescales, and to ensure permit and EIA requirements are compatible with construction and operational requirements.Provide support to other project teams to ensure environmental compliance according to the terms of the acquired permit.Handover permit requirements to operational teams during the transition between construction and operation.Remaining in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager.As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to:Opportunities to develop and grow your career.Employee Assistance Programme
