Morgan Philips is looking for an Environment & Climate Change Manager for a leading multinational company in the food and beverage sector. The scope of the position is 7 countries and over 20 production sites, reporting to the Chief Integrated Operations Officer and the position is based in Madrid.
Mission: Setting the strategy and providing guidelines to fulfill consumer's and customer's requirements regarding Environment and climate change protection.
Main Challenge: Address environmental and climate change problems while creating value for consumers and customers.
Main Functions: Define the strategic roadmap taking into account all stakeholders' (consumers, customers, suppliers, European and local administration, official certification organisms, audit organizations, associations) requirements, demands, and needs.Reduce the current company environmental high-risk ratio - both reducing carbon footprint and protecting the environment and climate change.Identify environmental impacts and risks.Assess and analyze company policies and processes to identify areas in and processes to which improvements can be made in accordance with the organization's commitment to its ecological footprint (Plant Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Sourcing, Commercial).Coordinate with different departments of the company to implement environmental strategies and policies.Design and foster the implementation of short/mid/long term environmental improvements and solutions (Scope 1 and 2).Assess and accredit suppliers, performing audits and solving issues related with packaging, sourced and outsourced raw materials together with Sourcing department (Scope 3).Identify critical research areas/new technologies such as renewable energy, carbon footprint, climate change, and food and water security and drive the execution/implementation of those projects at regional/local level.Ensure compliance to all relevant legal rules and regulations. Monitor the execution of Environmental standards and perform regular audits.Identify, evaluate and accredit the company with different environmental certifications.Set and monitor environmental and climate change KPIs.Support in the preparation of informative material documents and reporting (internal and external communication).Educate and oversee employees on environmental policies and regulations (i.e., pollution, hazards, energy, water, zero waste, climate, etc).Academic background / Requirements / Skills: Higher education in Engineering and/or Environment.Expertise in climate action and environmental sustainability challenges, preferably with experience in designing and implementing sustainability solutions.Deep technical knowledge and capabilities.Knowledge of legislation and policy influencing carbon and climate change, knowledge of key methodologies and standards associated with carbon accounting and carbon management, such as ISO14064, ISO50001, PAS2060, PAS2080, SBTis and Net Zero Standard.
