Job Title:
Engineering Manager / Team Lead - Lending
Ebury Madrid Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
This is a new role within the Ebury Technology Department focussing on leading a team focused on Client Evolution development. Working side by side with the product and the technology team, you will lead a cross-functional team in identifying and prioritizing key areas of a partner's business where AI solutions can drive significant business benefit. You will drive efficiencies and best practices as Ebury grows and matures over the coming years.
Responsibilities:

Understand company and client challenges and how integrating AI capabilities can lead to solutions.
Managing product priorities.
Represent the team in different forums.
Work closely with Product to have clear implementation plans for product roadmaps.
Foster technical decision-making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary.
Draft and review quarterly Engineering KPIs for your team.
Define and implement best practices for monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications.
Design and implement automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and services to ensure they meet our reliability and scalability requirements.
Manage the team's performance, develop career paths, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
Give regular and clear feedback around an individual's performance.
Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and practices.
Setting clear team goals.
Delegating tasks and setting deadlines for your internal team.

Experience and Qualifications:

Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in managing teams.
In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Decision-making skills.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and databases.
Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available and scalable applications.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Since you will work side by side with colleagues from different countries, you will be able to communicate clearly and concisely your ideas in English both written and spoken.
