About this role The Jotelulu Product team is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our customer-facing software team, manage our growing engineering team, and scale our codebase from thousands to millions of users. You will build a high-performing team, oversee project delivery, define technical requirements, and deliver features that enhance our cloud offerings for IT partners serving small and medium businesses.
Our ideal candidate excels at driving change across various objectives while fostering a strong team. You will manage the development lifecycle, mentor engineers, and handle hands-on technical tasks. You will lead on complex issues by building trust through reliable data in partnership with principal engineers.
The Jotelulu Product team designs, plans, delivers, and maintains all customer-facing products. We help partners purchase our cloud products (servers, remote desktops, cloud storage, etc.) and collaborate across Jotelulu to deliver impactful features while ensuring code stability and security. You will Lead and Mentor: Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Provide guidance and support to help engineers reach their full potential.
Scale Our Codebase: Help the team set and adopt best practices (continuous improvement, test-driven development, design patterns) and emerging technologies.
Manage Development Lifecycle: Oversee the entire software development process, from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
Define Vision and Roadmap: Work with the product team and stakeholders to define the technical roadmap, aligning it with business goals.
Communicate Effectively: Clearly convey technical decisions and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Identify, attract, develop, and retain talented people: build a positive team culture including rewards and recognition that align individuals' focus with our company goal

What We Are Looking For Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
3+ years of experience designing or architecting systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications: Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of software engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness
Experience building and running a world-class product team at an early-stage B2B SaaS company
Deep technical experience in both private and public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, etc.)
