.Responsible for leading EHS for Valencia, ensuring that the people and location(s) are legally compliant and satisfy PPG Environmental, Health, Safety and Security procedures, standards and processes. Responsible for establishing an ongoing assessment of the implementation of the EHS Management System to comply with local legislation and PPG EHS requirements, and for generating a strategy for site investment in EHS related infrastructure.The role requires some level of flexibility to travel to different locations within the country.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsures that EHS legal requirements for the location are always communicated and works with the local Leadership Team to address the requirements in the most effective way.Implements EHS strategy within the location by developing and aligning local plans, in agreement with local Leadership Team and Corporate & Regional guidelines; provide proactive feedback to Country Manager to ensure strategy sustainability & adaptability in the long term.Becomes a member of the local Leadership Team, participates in local decision-making and supports local needs in agreement with Location Manager and EHS Country Manager.Defines and maintains core EHS resourcing needs for the location and requests support to EHS Country Manager in alignment with business needs and partners.Ensures EHS resources are assigned to core EHS activities and any additional non-core activities as agreed by the Business and EHS and SLAs established.Collaborates with local Process Safety Managers/Coordinators to ensure process safety requirements are addressed.Identifies and prioritizes needs, proposes and gets approval for EHS local budget, and manages it accordingly in full alignment with Site Leadership Team and Country guidelines.Communicates timely for any off-site activities and seeks approval from Location Manager and EHS Country Manager.QualificationsBachelor's degree or advanced degree in EHS field, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent science, with proven learning experience.At least 3-6 years of experience in the EHS field, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical setting with high complexity.Outstanding expertise of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques.Proficient knowledge of key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable to influence customers.Proficiency in the use of computers with knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Strong problem-solving skills.Be committed to continue both professional growth and leadership, by participating in professional societies and maintaining/obtaining professional certifications.Strong communication, solid leadership, influencing, mentoring; effective advisor to management and employees across a variety of issues.Proficient in English
