As Solar Project Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimising the design of our ground mounted solar PV projects. Your main focus will be our projects in Spain and Portugal; however, you will also support projects internationally as part of an international solar engineering team.
Responsibilities: Technical evaluation of sites via site visits and investigationsNew technology evaluation and selectionProduction of design drawings for Solar PV and hybrid solar PV + storage systemsSelecting and processing solar irradiation and albedo datasetsEnergy yield estimation and uncertainty analysisPreliminary electrical system sizing calculations and producing concept electrical single line diagramsProducing preliminary Bills of QuantitiesProducing technical specifications for construction procurementContributing to technical expert working groups and associated toolkit developmentCo-ordination with external consultants and contractorsSearch for optimization in PV System to control CAPEXQualifications: Master's degree level qualification in electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, industrial, energy engineering, physics or other relevant technical disciplineAt least 3 years' work experience designing ground mounted solar PV plantsAdvanced user of AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCASE and at least one utility-scale, specialist PV design software packageFluent in Spanish and English - fluency in Portuguese is a plusExperience in solar project procurement, construction, commissioning or operationExperience and knowledge of relevant Spanish design codes, regulations and policyCurious mind and innovation seeker related to solar system design and continuous improvement initiativesYou thrive on a collaborative approach to knowledge sharing and working, both with local teams and remote, international networks of staffExperience with ARCGISGood knowledge of Development process in SpainWillingness to travel regularly across SpainAdditional Information: Statkraft's vision is to renew the way the world is powered.
