The successful candidate will join the Marine Leadership Team at Hempel, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of our Marine segment. This role requires a strategic mindset to define the go-to-market strategy in collaboration with the rest of the commercial organisation. The role involves managing multiple stakeholders, requiring strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to deliver on global strategic goals. The Director will lead several expert teams to ensure our Marine Solutions team can navigate the complex process of aligning go-to-market strategy, sustainability, products, and services.
The role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of our marine products and services, from conception and development, through to market launch and performance analysis. The Director will play a critical role in driving product strategy, digitalization, innovation, and market positioning, ensuring our offerings meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities: Solution Design: Collaborate with customers and the commercial organization to craft new digital solutions. Ensure successful deployment and implementation of end solutions.
Product Development: Own the process for development and design of new marine products and services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market. Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Market Analysis and Strategy:Monitor, analyze, and evaluate market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity. Identify market opportunities and gaps for new products and services. Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on market trends and improve product competitiveness.
Product Launch and Marketing:Oversee the successful launch of new products. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans. Set competitive and profitable pricing strategies for products and services.
Sales Performance and Forecasting:Monitor sales volume, revenue, and costs against forecasts. Adjust strategies and plans to improve sales performance and achieve financial targets.
Customer Feedback and Product Improvement:Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for product improvement. Generate new product ideas based on customer needs and feedback.
Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of subject matter experts. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Ensure alignment of product management activities with overall business objectives.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Strong record of accomplishment for completing strategic targets
Solid understanding of market analysis, product development, and marketing strategies.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
