We're seeking an experienced Data Privacy cases Specialist to join our eDreams ODIGEO Communications team, which is in a strong growth environment and will be based in our Barcelona office to manage Data Privacy cases directly reporting to the VIP Customer Communications Team Lead and being part of the eDreams ODIGEO Communications team, which is in a strong growth environment and is based in our Barcelona office. We're a leading travel tech company, revolutionising the travel booking experience through our consumer insight, innovative technology, market leadership, and Prime, the world's first travel subscription program.What you will do The Role's Key Responsibilities and TasksAs an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Data Privacy cases Specialist in the Communications team, you will be in charge of:Customer Privacy Requests: Receive and process privacy-related requests submitted through the company's online form, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to company policies.Data Privacy Query Management: Address data privacy inquiries referred by other team members with accuracy and efficiency.Sensitive Privacy Case Handling: Manage complex data privacy cases with diligence and discretion.External Authority Requests: Handle and respond to official requests from external authorities in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with relevant departments, especially the DPO, to ensure all privacy requests are appropriately managed.Customer Rights Assurance: Provide timely, precise responses to customers regarding their data privacy rights.Official Data Requests: Oversee and fulfill data-related requests from authorities in alignment with data privacy regulations.VIP Communications Support: Assist with VIP Communications projects, providing support to team members as needed.Performance Measurement and Reporting: Analyze, measure, and report on the effectiveness of privacy initiatives to drive continuous improvement.What you need to succeed:Job Requirements:Bring your unique perspective, speak up, and offer disruptive solutions. Here's what you need to succeed:Strong knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Regulations (mainly EU) and its requirements.Previous experience in a customer service-based role with a focus on GDPR rights management.Familiarity with privacy management platforms, such as Onetrust or similar systems.Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple privacy requests simultaneously.Ability to interpret and apply GDPR principles to practical situations, ensuring compliance.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing and processing personal data.Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and stakeholders.Understanding of the travel industry and related data protection considerations is preferred.Ability to work with G-suite.Excellent writing and communication skills, you should be able to work with legal vocabulary and have an excellent grammar at least in one of the following languages at native level: German, English, Italian, French; and/or in two languages Catalan and Spanish. Proficient level of English and Spanish is a must.Passionate for the travel industry;Ethical and trustworthy approach to handling sensitive personal data.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and provide appropriate solutions.Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and law enforcement authorities professionally.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of data protection and privacy.Valuable:Data Protection Officer (DPO) qualification is desired, or someone with a strong understanding of GDPR in Europe and previous experience in a similar GDPR-focused role. Also US understanding will be considered as a plus.Other languages will be an advantage, including: German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Norwegian, Swedish, Dutch, Catalan, Euskera, Galician and/or Portuguese.What's in it for you
