About the vacancy
For NewCold's new market entry in Spain, we are looking for a Country Manager who will head and build our business in the Spanish market, work closely with our anchor client, and develop relationships with potential new clients and suppliers. The holder of this position will collaborate closely with NewCold's Development department during the construction of the new warehouse and ensure the new site meets all operational needs NewCold will have today and in the future.
Once NewCold is operational in Spain, the Country Manager is in charge of supervising NewCold's Warehouse and Transport activities in the country in order to:
Deliver the best service to the customer
Maintain sustainable and profitable growth by reaching the target of profit agreed in the Business Plan / Annual Operating Plan for both Warehousing and Transport
Keep and develop a strong and motivated operational team
Ensure compliance with local rules and regulations
Connect the country-specific direction with the overall NewCold goals and objectives
What will you do?
Be the representative of the company in front of current customers and other stakeholders in the country
Statutory representative of the Spanish entities
Check the level of the quality of the relationship between NewCold and the customers to maintain a high level of reliability
Contact new potential customers to present the activities
Meet the customers regularly through operational and informal meetings
Keep a watch over the national market and competition
Accountable to present every year an Annual Operating Plan following the instructions of HQ
Accountable to define the annual required investments and manage that the projects stay within the budget
Implement the effective structure to meet the targets
Ensure proper implementation of quality systems
Provide the results to HQ on a monthly basis, with detailed explanation in time
Take appropriate action to repair potential shortcomings versus AOP
Organize the monthly Country Meeting and check that decisions are implemented operationally
Ensure compliance with the country legislation (social, environment, annual closing accounts…)
Maintain the level of team training in accordance with the needs of the activity and applicable regulation
Create a positive image of the company and take care of its position in the domestic and international market, also using marketing tools
Look for new activities which could possibly be a scope of NewCold's interest
Initiate activities in the field of Business Development
Who are we looking for?
You have:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics or Engineering
Minimum 7 years experience in Management of an Operational Business Unit or company in the Warehousing, Supply Chain, Transport or Food Production industry in Spain
Minimum 5 years experience in a Leadership role in a fast-paced environment
Minimum 5 years experience in Change and Transition Management
Professional Communication & Empathy
Business Development & Relationship Management
Professional / Advanced English language skills, any other European Language is a plus
