Novicap is an end-to-end working capital solutions provider focused on enabling CFOs/Finance teams of SMEs to pay their suppliers and collect from their customers. This includes short-term credit (factoring, supply chain finance and loans) and payment automation solutions.
With offices in Barcelona and Madrid, we are currently looking for a Compliance Specialist who wants to join our Compliance team. You will help us in delivering and supporting our compliance work.

What will you do?
As mentioned, you will be supporting our compliance work reporting to the Compliance Manager. We are subject to UK HMRC and Spain's SEPBLAC, among other frameworks. Although you will work transversally with practically all areas of the company, either providing support or identifying and managing risks associated with them,, your focus will be Compliance & Regulatory Matters. You will be responsible of:
Control of the application of due diligence measures for new agreements and monitoring of the business relationship with current customers (KYC).
Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks
Preparing and managing training for each department
Develop and review company policies
Assisting in identifying, investigating, reporting and correction of compliance issues, irregularities and violations
Assisting the Compliance Manager in ensuring legal and compliance obligations are followed, helping to create an environment of risk control and monitoring.
Conducting research to provide compliance recommendations, advice on upcoming/emerging regulations and evaluation impacts
Assisting the Compliance Manager to ad-hoc compliance projects
In doing so, you will contribute to the achievement of Novicap's long-term growth plans

Who will you be working with?
You will report directly to our Compliance Manager and work closely with other teams across Madrid and Barcelona. A young and dynamic team that's waiting for you with arms open!
You are the right fit if you:
Are based in Madrid;
Are graduated and qualified as Spanish lawyer;
Have 1-2 years of experience in compliance department in a law firm, or in a financial services, technology firm, or a bank;
Have keen interest in fintech and work in an entrepreneurial team-based environment;
Strong work ethic, with a passion for legal advice;
An ability to build relationships across the organisation in order to understand business processes and identify related legal issues;
Have a fluent level of English that allows you to work in the language. We are a multicultural team with a presence in other countries!
Bonus point if you:
Have experience in other jurisdictions.
