The CNIC is searching for a Senior Researcher who will lead and develop a research line in the cardiovascular field aligned with any of the main research areas of the center.
Responsibilities:
Development of the research lines of the laboratory.
Obtain extramural funding from competitive national and international sources.
Publish scientific results in high-impact international journals.
Supervise the work of all members of the group, including research and technical staff.
Coordinate and manage work requested by CNIC leadership.
Mandatory requirements:
PhD in the field of Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, etc.).
At least 10 years of experience as Group Leader in a research center with international recognition in the cardiovascular field.
Excellent track record of recent scientific publications, fulfilling at least one of the following criteria:
6 original articles as corresponding author published in the last 5 years in journals ranked in the first decile of their field.
1 original article as corresponding author published in the last 5 years in a journal ranked in the TOP3 of their field.
1 original article considered highly cited according to WOS in the last 5 years.
Experience as Principal Investigator and/or Coordinator in research grants obtained from competitive calls from international funding sources in the last 5 years.
Main topic of research aligned with one of the research programs of the CNIC.
Valuable requirements:
Scientific production: publications as corresponding author in journals ranked as first decile in their fields in the previous 5 years.
Fundraising (international): Competitive projects obtained from international funding sources.
Fundraising (national): Competitive projects obtained from national funding sources.
International recognition: Participation in international committees or boards in the previous 5 years.
Training and mentoring: Experience in training and mentoring of young researchers.
Impact on society: Translation of research discoveries to the clinics, invention of patents, and outreach activities.
Cardiovascular focus: Cardiovascular nature of the papers published and of the projects as principal investigator in the previous 5 years.
