Permanent Business Development Director (Spain) Business Development Madrid About the Role The GBDI Director Spain will report to Chief Executive Europe and would enable LM to deliver the strategy for Spain and be successful in winning/keeping the key programmes in the country.
In brief, working closely with corporate functions and Business Areas in LM, the Director will: Develop and manage LM corporate engagement and business development in Spain.
Provide a strong understanding of Spanish customer plans and priorities.
Understand the business environment and trends affecting Lockheed Martin.
Develop effective strategies for growing and maintaining Lockheed Martin business in Spain.
Responsibilities include: Support the development and implementation of the Lockheed Martin Spanish strategy.
Represent Lockheed Martin with key Government, political, industrial and military stakeholders in Spain and develop and maintain positive and appropriate relationships with them in coordination with the Business Areas.
Lead on government relations activities in Spain in support of LM strategic aims.
Provide LM Business Areas with a clear understanding of changing customer needs and expectations in terms of capabilities, technologies, requirements and their impact on capture/contract content and delivery.
Provide political, military and economic situational reports to Lockheed Martin executives.
Contribute to the creation, development and sustainment of Spanish industrial partnerships and alliances.
Plan and coordinate events and activities to support the Corporation's business development and government relations goals.
Position LM as one company through Events, Seminars, Sponsorships and Donations.
Required skills, qualifications and experience Equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
Fluent in Spanish and English, written and verbal.
The successful candidate would already be working in a Director/High level Leadership role.
International business and customer relations experience within Spain.
Experience of representing a brand and communicating clearly both within the company and to customers and stakeholders.
To have established contacts with Government and military personnel.
The ability to identify business opportunities.
The ability to maintain and manage current business relationships as well as identify new business with government and commercial customers.
Strong ability to build successful business relationships with all levels of stakeholders in both public and private sectors.
A team player who can work well with international multi-cultural teams, committed to personal excellence, ethical behaviour and integrity.
Knowledge and experience of successfully working and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to manage multiple lines of work concurrently.
A high degree of flexibility and the availability to travel within Spain and occasionally elsewhere within Europe and to the US.
Self-motivation and the ability to operate in a virtual team with minimal guidance.
Demonstrated ability to deliver international growth campaigns, set milestones and deliverables, and execute by delivering long range planning commitments.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of government, political and military decision processes and requirements.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and have a pro-active, customer-centric outlook.
The ability to be flexible in responding to changing requirements, and to interact with individuals at the most senior levels in government and industry is essential.
Excellent communication skills are a must; both to provide regular written reports for an internal readership as well as to clearly communicate LM's strategy in Spain to stakeholders in a succinct and compelling way.
