Mission The Biofuels and Chemicals Trading Desk is responsible for all trading activities within Biofuels products, Biofuels feedstocks, and Chemicals. The mandate is to source, negotiate (buy and sell), and secure bio-based raw materials (feedstocks) used in the production of biofuels, biochemicals, and other bioproducts primarily in the Iberian market. This role involves building relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring the quality and sustainability of feedstocks, coordinating logistics to ensure a profitable and efficient trading operation.
What you'll do Identify and develop relationships with suppliers of bio feedstocks such as agricultural residues, waste oils, energy crops, and other renewable material in the Iberian market.Identify and develop relationships with customers of bio feedstocks such as biodiesel producers, HVO/SAF producers, and other supply-chain players such as traders and blenders, primarily in the Iberian market.Buy and sell bio feedstocks, negotiating the terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers and customers to secure the best deals and reliable supply and sale agreements.Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, sustainability, cost, and reliability.Conduct market research to stay informed about market players, competitive landscape, regulation, new bio feedstocks, pricing, and availability of various bio feedstocks.Follow different regulatory frameworks across primarily the Iberian Market but also in relevant neighboring countries such as France and Italy.Monitor market conditions and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.Collaborate with the Sustainability team to ensure feedstocks meet required specifications and sustainability criteria.Collaborate with Operations and Logistics teams to address any issues related to feedstock quality and to coordinate the transportation and delivery of feedstocks to production facilities timely and cost-effectively.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.What you'll need Preferably possess Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.More than 5 years working with Iberian Bio feedstock markets and sustainability/traceability schemes.Well-connected with end-users and counterparties regionally.Well-informed of the world and regional product demand and supply, market dynamics, and arbitrage opportunities.Industry knowledge: supply/demand fundamentals of physical market, feedstock types and quality specifications, competitors, logistics operations, standard terms and conditions of contracts, and understanding the value of variations in specification, timing, and volume.Quick to get acquainted with company's Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, Price and News reporting platforms (Reuters, Bloomberg), and MS Office tools.Strong communication and analytical skills.Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) At Galp, we have the ambition to be a Human Centered Company, and for that we acknowledge our responsibility to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) by having a genuine mindset, lived in our day-to-day, in all our processes.
